Letizia Cariello was born into a family of Neapolitan origin dedicated to sculpture for more than two hundred years. She graduated in Art History at the University of Milan and, after having worked for cinema in Italy and in the United States, she graduated in Painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.

Letizia Cariello's research explores the relationship between internal and external space through different media (drawing, installation, photography, sculpture and video).

The attempt to intercept the material consistency of time focuses on the pursuit of the traces that time leaves, marking it in writing (Calendars), objects and matter. The purpose of this process is a continuous service of reconstruction of ties, connections, relationships (the Red Thread), through the identification and literal mending of objects and spaces, both in the macro and in the micro: from trees to teapots, from cups.
